Susan Kadis - President

Susan Kadis has worked for the Behavioral Health Administration Office of Consumer Affairs for many years. Her direct knowledge and history of the consumer movement and the development of wellness and recovery centers make her an effective and beneficial board president.

Mary Hauf - Vice President

Mary Hauf, RN, served as vice-President of On Our Own, Inc. over 15 years ago. She’s eligible to serve an additional term this fiscal year. Mary is a Registered Nurse certified in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing. Knowing both roles as consumer and provider, Mary has played a pivotal role in empowering the consumers of our organization.

Luciene Parsley - Treasurer

Luciene Parsley is Litigation Counsel at Disability Rights Maryland (DRM), the state’s protection and advocacy agency for individuals with disabilities. Over the past 20 years, she has worked in fair housing and mental health law, as well as to protect individuals with psychiatric conditions living in facilities from abuse, neglect, and rights violations.

In her current position, she oversees DRM’s systemic litigation to champion the civil rights of Marylanders with disabilities.

Andy Goldenson - Secretary

Andy Goldenson is co-owner of Instruments of Healing (IoH), with the mission of creating musical experiences that promote wellness and inspire, motivate, and educate our peers in their recovery from mental health and substance use challenges. This unique mobile peer-run, peer-based organization brings a range of professional-grade musical instruments for participants to play during our many programs.

With great collaborations with On Our Own, Inc., peers teach each other, share their skills and talents, listen attentively to each other perform, and bond together over music. Moreover, confidence and self-esteem are fostered during the IoH music-making experience.

Patrick Malloy

Patrick Malloy is an attorney-at-law and operates his own legal firm. While serving on the board, he has generously volunteered his time to assist On Our Own, Inc. with legal matters. Furthermore, he has previously devoted his time to serving in the Peace Corps.

Miriam Yarmolinsky

Miriam L. Yarmolinsky, ALWF, CCAR-T, CPRS, CP-WIC, RPS, is the founder and Executive Director of Peer Wellness & Recovery Services, Inc. (PWRS).

Miriam is a passionate, driven advocate for people who’ve experienced mental illness, substance use/addictions, and/or other difficult situations. She brings to the board the ability to create programs from scratch and utilizes her skills as a trainer (Advanced Level WRAP Facilitator).
